. Where Are We Now And Where Do We Want To Go?
We must have progress in medicine.
How far have we come?
We are in Hallein, in Mohamed Khalifa’s surgery, and here we encounter a completely different approach to medicine to that in the GP’s surgery or the hospital - the one we consider normal.
We have seen that medical science has made a major contribution to our prosperity and to our well-being. It has helped life expectancy to double over the past hundred years.
Nevertheless, there is a great deal of scepticism towards modern medicine, which is becoming ever more expensive. We have also seen that even routine operations can endanger life, as in the case of Steffen Alt’s
crucial ligament operation. Operations which would not even be necessary if we followed Mohamed Khalifa’s way and began again to respect the body with its self-healing powers instead of ignoring them or even denying
them as modern medicine often does (cf. the placebo effect). If we would only concentrate more on trophic metabolism instead of relying on the scalpel which, in its endeavours to heal, first cuts through and
destroys healthy tissue and cuts off supply channels that are necessary for healing.
“We need progress in medical science and that means in the direction of metabolism”, says Mohamed Khalifa. In the third part we will try and answer the questions of what that involves, what role physics and Albert
Einstein play, what chances of success the medical approach has that cures instead of repairs.
Answers to the question, why an injury often brings with it a whole series of consequential injuries. To the question, why a crucial ligament can be healed in only 90 minutes without even being touched from outside.
To the question, how what is apparently inexplicable is still understandable.
For this, however, you will have to take a risk. We are going into space.
